CARE
AND MAINTENANCE
How to care for your aluminum boat
POLISHED
Polished aluminum, if not cared for, will return to its original dull appearance.
If neglected and left exposed to the elements oxidation will take place. Keeping your boat covered when not in use is the first step to protecting its finish.
A soft, trailerable cover is optimal.
CLEANING
For painted and polished surfaces, any automotive wash formula will work.
Make sure you towel dry after rinsing.
For oil, grease and grime, mineral spirits will work on polished aluminum.

Once every year a cream aluminum polish can be applied to preserve and protect all bare polished surfaces. Do not use cream aluminum polish on painted aluminum surfaces. A conventional non residue spray car wax can be applied to protect painted surfaces.

ENGINE CARE
Never run engine dry. Doing so can damage water pump impeller. During dryland starting always use muffs with half hose pressure or immerse leg in barrel.
When not in use for long periods of time, store and winterize appropriately.

* For saltwater, aluminum boats should be rinsed with freshwater. Installing zinc sacrificial anodes below the waterline will reduce galvanic corrosion.
